Michael Weiss, PhD
I am a software engineer specializing in recommendation systems with a strong passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning. In my previous roles, I worked as a doctoral candidate and postdoctoral researcher at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. My dissertation focused on the early detection and prevention of errors caused by artificial neural networks.
I bring extensive experience in teaching and presenting technical topics to diverse audiences. As a teaching assistant, I co-managed numerous lectures in artificial intelligence and software development, and I mentored students in projects and thesis work. Additionally, in my previous role as a technical project manager in the banking sector, it was crucial for me to present technical matters in an understandable and concise manner to clients and other stakeholders.
Through the Michael Weiss Academy, which I operate on the side, I combine my passion for teaching with my enthusiasm for machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Originally, I earned both a BSc and an MSc in Business Informatics at the University of Zurich, the latter as the top of my class. Find me on linkedin, mweiss.ch and google scholar.
